Melvin K. Myles

The Beginning
Rooted in the Delta.
Called to the World.
Melvin Kindall Myles is a Vocal Laureate, cultural strategist, and civic voice whose rich baritone and emotive phrasing bridge Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Folk, and Classical traditions with rare authority.
His formation began in the church choirs of the Mississippi Delta — grounded in a sound shaped by faith, struggle, and hard-won beauty — and has carried him to the most consecrated and prestigious stages in the nation.
He ministers at Washington National Cathedral as a Staff Vocalist, delivering sacred art in one of the most consecrated spaces in the nation. He performed as a Vocal Laureate at Carnegie Hall — a recognition of artistic excellence and technical mastery. He sang at Central Synagogue in New York City for their landmark MLK Shabbat interfaith justice concert, “Praying With Our Feet.”
He serves in the Worship and Arts Ministry at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta — the pulpit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — ministering to a congregation and a tradition whose reach extends far beyond Sunday mornings.
“Born in the tradition of the Mississippi Delta, forged in sacred spaces, and recognized on the world’s most prestigious stages — Melvin K. Myles carries every room he has ever stood in into every room he steps into now.”

What He Is Working Toward
The stage is not the end of the work. It is the beginning.
Alongside his performance and consulting career, Melvin is actively developing four national initiatives — each designed to extend cultural work into broader civic and community impact.
01 — In Development
American Soul Cities Cultural Corridor
Being developed as a national cultural initiative to connect cities through music heritage, tourism, and community-based storytelling — linking history, culture, and civic engagement rooted in the legacy of American music.
02 — In Development
Soul of Change
Being developed as a national event series to bring artists, civic leaders, and communities together around the role of cultural expression in shaping social transformation. Each gathering is designed to move beyond conversation into shared experience.
03 — NICD Collaboration
Peacemaking in the Public Square
Led by the National Institute for Civil Discourse (NICD). Melvin is contributing as a cultural and musical collaborator — bringing artistic programming into sacred and civic spaces where division has made connection difficult.
04 — In Development
Creative Arts Empowerment Network (CAEN)
Being developed as a nonprofit platform to support artists and organizations working at the intersection of culture, service, and community impact — providing infrastructure, partnership pathways, and program development support.
